A new client’s cash income had dipped in the previous tax year due to him taking on a new role, however, earning opportunities were equal to, if not greater than, in the old role.
Retail and some Premier banks had already been unable to assist the client because of the “gap” in bonus income, meaning that they were unwilling to use the latest year’s bonus figure, which had just been received, without a consecutive 2 year history, even though the client had earned a strong bonus every other year for the last 10+ years.
We were able to obtain market leading rates by using a bank that applied a common sense approach to lending and looked at income across a 5 year period rather than penalising the client for forfeiting his bonus with his previous employer in order to pursue an opportunity at further betterment.
