Many lenders within the market have now dropped rates to below 4% including Barclays, NatWest, HSBC, and Santander.

The lowest rate on the market right now is Nationwide – 60% LTV, remortgage 2 year fixed rate at 3.84% which is the lowest we have seen in the market for a while!

Natwest Family Backed Mortgage

Natwest have also recently started offering family backed mortgages, helping first time buyers get on the property ladder with assistance from a friend or family member.

Eligibility

• Min income £20,000 PA for main owner
• Min age 18 / Max age 75
• Not available with Right to buy or shared equity schemes
• Only residential mortgages

The Delayed Start Mortgage

Skipton have recently released a new product to help First time buyers get on the property ladder. Most first-time buyers feel financially stretched in the first few months after moving into their new home. That’s why Skipton building society have launched a Delayed Start Mortgage which allows your clients to delay their mortgage repayments for the first 3 months.

Full details:

• Interest will accrue from day one and will be added to the overall mortgage balance.
• Can be used to purchase New Build properties.
• Can be paired with Skiptons income booster mortgage
• Clients can fix their interest rate for two or five years.
• Clients can borrow up to 95% of the property value
• Clients can make overpayments up to 10% of the original loan amount per year (including during the first 3 months), without incurring ERCs.
• Cannot be used with any schemes
